Karasawa and Moonlight were objectively the 'best' weapons of their kind in ac1-2. There is not supposed to be such a thing as 'best' anything in Armored Core games. The game is disappointingly built around boss encounters. Ammo count is meaningless when you get free Melee slaps, QB means you will rarely if ever take any meaningful damage from grunts.Īnd they are almost always just kill everything and move to the next objective missions. None of the non-boss mission are challenging in anyway because of too much build in utility. The sortie assortment in this game is awful, Fighting one of the Guns in the elevator Shaft Yes, the whole 2 Sorties where they put enough enemies on the field to be a threat + having a specific objective. You could make the argument that 'erm, but its completely useless against swarms of enemies, mission with them are harder'. Literally no other weapons in the game allow you to get away with 2-3 cycling the bosses in under 20 seconds in the same way these two weapons can. Pile Bunker charged can 20% chunk the hp alot of the bosses.Īnd then you have your right hand slots for 2 other heavy hitting weapons.

Lance builds almost 80% stagger on everything it hits (and survives) And yeah, Pile Bunker and Lance are almost universally the way to cheese the bosses in this game.

There are weapons that straight up dominate their slot category for the various DPS requirements that the bosses have. Its not as if the game lets you be whatever you want and lets you get away with anything.
